The Story Telling and Listening (STL, 2006-2007) series I-VI were inspired by a childhood play in which my friends and I would sit on the floor, under a blanket, to share stories or play games.  The sharing of activities and space created a feeling of comfort and connection. Through the process of making of a quilt and storytelling, the participants were challenged to dismantle their emotional and physical boundaries to enter an intimate, sharing space and connect with other members of the community. International communities participated in the series including indigenous Canadians, American at risk youth, and Korean women. For each series the type or the design of bedcover was chosen based on its representation of the community involved.
